Publications History
Pouring the Oil Publications is an offspring of the Oil of Joy Ministries II, Inc., where the Apostle Patricia Wiley is the founder and senior pastor.
When Lizzie Louis arrived at the door-step of Oil of Joy Ministries II in 1992, Pastor Wiley, then Reverend Rodgers, provided her
the opportunity to do the offering appeal address at the first anniversary service. There the pastor immediately identified the gift of poetry God had
place inside of Lizzie and made room for the poetic gift in the midst of the congregation.
The unique way in which Lizzie ministered the Word of God in poetic form inspired the leader to establish a place for what she coined “Poetic Praise.”
It was in this setting that Lizzie’s gift was sanctified, and after a number of years Apostle Wiley created an auxiliary called “Poetic Praise Ministry” and appointed Lizzie over it. Poetic Praise Ministry was desired to identify the poetic gifts within the body and work to provide an avenue and training to nurture and spearhead the development of those gifts. In addition, Poetic Praise took on the task of reviving the ministry’s newspaper in a new, fresh and innovative format entitled “Full-Flight: The High Calling Newsletter.”
In 2002, Poetic Praise Ministry began to focus on publications. As a result, in August 2004, the ministry published its first book, Time to Change: A Daily Devotional, by Patricia Wiley. Around this same time, God began to minister to Lizzie that He had placed books inside of His children and that He wanted her to help His children publish books by creating a publishing company that would service as a midwife to help them give birth. This midwife entity would aim to accomplish two primary things: 1) to help the authors give birth to exactly what God placed inside them without tampering or altering, and 2) to make sure that the author maintained all rights and control of the finished product.
Pouring the Oil Publications is a unique management service designed
to help perspective authors walk through the publication process and self-publish through short run publishing which allows them to give birth to their dream and vision of being
a published author. Pouring the Oil is then available to assist with the marketing and promotion process that is so important to getting the books on bookshelves throughout the world.
